Rhône-Alpes is one of the leading region in France for industry, thanks to its added value and to the companies settled in France within this sector.

Industry in Rhône-Alpes is highly diversified and internationally oriented. It benefits from state-of-the-art activities together with advanced R&D: health, biotechnologies, nanotechnologies, chemistry, environment, energy, software, materials, sport and leisure, technical textile…		  
Some historical and traditional activities of the Rhône-Alpes region are still at their highest level on international markets such as textile, mechanics, food processing, metal processing… Wines and cheese production are very well known worldwide, the region is a leader of organic produce.
Services are also a major part of Rhône-Alpes added value and employment. The region is one of the major French center for logistics.
